DJ Food Blog features Equinox Artworks

A few weeks ago, during the Autumn Sale in our store, Strictly Kev has posted some nice pictures and words about Equinox Records on his DJ Food website. As Kev being one of the main designers and art directors for Ninja Tune since the beginning, this, of course, is a big honour for us. Check the pictures out right here:

Equinox 2012 Calendar Available Now!
In cooperation with the Berlin-based designer Sara Krines, Equinox Records presents a very special and limited wall calendar for 2012. The experimental calendar is like the long-form version of a TokyoFlash watch: There’s a learning curve you need to get around before you can read it.

As Krines describes it,
My approach is to organize time (months, weeks and days) in an unusual way. Taking my personal needs into consideration, I designed a calendar which divides the year into 12 months. Each month is divided into 7 fields which represent the days of the week. Within these fields, the dates, which fall on that particular weekday in the respective month, are listed.
For example: In January 2012 the 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th fall on a Monday. Therefore these dates are shown within the field of Monday, January 2012. In addition, I developed a very easy code to replace words (names of months and weeks). This code underlines the cubistic form of the calendar and is explained in a graphic which is printed on the packaging.

Additionally to the calendar, there is a limited and exclusive CD compilation called “Re/Introspective 2011/12” that contains 12 tracks featuring Ceschi, Deckard, 2econd Class Citizen, Sole And The Skyrider Band, Misanthrop & Aqua Luminus III., J. Baracuz, David Vangel, Geste, Andreikelos, PollyJean and DJ Scientist. The tracks are partly unreleased and give a brief outlook of what to expect from our label in 2012 as well as giving a retrospective view on some music that has been released via Equinox in 2011.

The calendar package with the CD is a MUST HAVE for all Equinox fans and collectors and will be sold out quickly (25 copies only!). Don’t hesitate to place your order as soon as it is available.
The calendar is available for purchase HERE.
SOLD OUT SOLD OUT SOLD OUT
Notes: The calendar comes seperated as 12 monthly fields as well as the “2012” field and can be put together with double side duct tape (included in package). Calendar and CD are delivered in a beautifully designed package in DIN A4 size. The total measure of the calendar is approx. 70 x 90 cm.

Random Seed Podcast Episode 2 by SCNTST & SNTC
Random Seed is back with a great new mix put together by Equinox Founder himself DJ Scientist – aka SCNTST in this case – and his old DJ buddy and friend SNTC aka Snatchatec (of the Deckpackers crew).
The Random Seed podcast series started last year with a mix by Andreikelos from Greece. However, due to lack of time, the continuation of the series was postponed. Anyway, we hope you enjoy this new podcast with some dirty and grimey as well as some more mellow beats. There is some instrumental hip-hop, some dubstep, some glitch in there, and even some crunk! Furthermore, this mix is the first one that features the dope new Random Seed introduction beat by our main man Phonatic who already provided us with great remixes for Ceschi and 2econd Class Citizen as well as his amazing Equinox Megamix in 2010.
Random Seed Episode 2 by SCNTST & SNTC by Equinox Records

1. Phonatic – Random Seed Theme (Equinox Records)
2. Free The Robots – Young And Yet Too Old (All City)
3. Kubus – In Je Graff (Bloom)

10. Jellybass – Liquid Metal (LoHz)

The next podcast is already finished and will be by DJ Cannikz – so stay tuned and follow us on mixcloud.com/randomseed. If you want to contribute a mix to our podcast series please use the Equinox Records dropbox via soundcloud.com/equinoxrecords and upload a file of your mix. Otherwise you can get in touch with randomseed //at// e-q-x.net. The length of the mix should be at least 20 minutes and should contain good music, mixed well and tight.
